Jim's wife, Susan Shaer, is the Executive Director. Environmental League of Massachusetts The state's leading environmental advocacy group. New England Wild Flower Society The oldest plant conservation organization in the United States, promoting the conservation of North American plants. Jim serves on its Board of Overseers. International Council on Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) The international environmental agency local governments. Arlington and Medford participate in their energy conservation programs. Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) Advocates for the protection of the water bodies and adjoining lands that are at the core of the Arlington/Medford community.
